An apprenticeship is a work-based training programme designed around the needs of employers, leading to nationally recognised qualifications.

The benefits of a telecoms apprenticeship organised by the ITP

  • Employers are in the driving seat – they can review the content up front and as the process develops
  • Our scheme is linked to existing Professional Registration standards, allowing graduated apprentices to fast-track to having nationally recognised professional letters after their name (for example ICTTech)
  • A clear progression route to further professional registration, such as CEng

We also feel that the ITP itself is a unique organisation, representing the views and needs of telecoms professionals for more than 100 years – this is a real selling point for employers, training providers, young apprentices and their parents – especially as we already have many apprentice members.  We understand their needs and the challenges they face.
